I want to buy one of these games for my pc but don't know which one is better, armageddon or world party??
any help would be appreciated.:)
No. Worms Armageddon is much better than Worms World Party. It's still getting updates, it had fewer bugs than WWP did to begin with, many of the bugs it had are fixed with the latest update, and WA has a much bigger online community than WWP. I suggest you purchase Worms Armageddon, but not the Trymedia version, as it can't be updated and is far overpriced. Get the Sold-Out Software version from Sold-Out Software.

Hi kapil,
I decided to buy worms world party, because it is the newest 2d worms and i read lot of good things about it, but also that it's not much different from worms armageddon.
I bought the game maybe a month ago and loved playing it online, i became a part of the community and i found many good sites for worms fans. I also got to know about the update thing. And i bought Worms Armageddon.
The last update for worms world party was in January the 3rd 2003.
The last update for worms armageddon was in January the 5th 2006.
Worms armageddon was played by deadcode, he is very talented in programming so team17 gave him the worms code, so he could patch and update it, thats the reason, why wa is getting updated all the time (not sure if the story is 100% correct, but just to let you know why an older version of 2d worms is getting updated) .
In worms armageddon many bugs were fixed, as lex already told ya and some new features were added (you can set resolution very high, i can play it for example in 1280 x 1024, which is not possible in wwp, you have more options in the map editor, worms can do the moonwalk :P and many many more).
I used to play worms world party, but in my humble opinion worms armageddon is the best 2d worms for pc.
Look here for the most important features of the new W:A beta updates:

They easily exceed WWP additional features.

ok so I think I'm gonna buy armageddon. I'm surprised, I thought the newer game would be better.
I was wondering are graphics in world party far superior compared to armageddon?
They used precisely the same sprites WA uses 95% of the time for WWP. If anything, some of the sprites look less grainy on WA. And the menus are easier on the eyes.

if i buy the sold out version of armageddon will it work online? i had the original (the one in the huge box) but xp wouldn't read the game.

Both of them will work in XP if you patch the game with the latest beta update.
id have to say WA is better purely for the updates and custom resolutions.
wwp is pretty much empty whenever i try to have a game too

some people perfer it because its not as dark as WA. Its happy and gives you smiles. WA is a little more serious in a way. I dunno...

Yah, but as soon as it comes to actually giving solid reasons to back up your claim that WWP is in fact better, no-one really comes up with them.

WWP has bugs with the map generator - it always defaults to -Beach terrain, 5 objects, 5 bridges. Armageddon doesn't have this bug. I have both installed, just so I can play the missions and training modes. I also have Worms 2, but no longer have this installed due to its lack of support for high-res displays.
There's a patch out there that will let you play W2 in 1024×768. A search trough these forums should do the trick.
worms 2 beats worms world party hands down.

Wow... I really wanted to buy Worms World Party until I saw this thread. I played the Worms Armaggedon on PlayStation before it got stolen and I think the music is way better - It has the most standard (is that even the right word) theme song on the title screen.
You can go to vgmusic.com and download the song to your computer too XD

I think deadcode is patching W:A cuz thats were peaple had the most problems unlike wwp it only has cripled online play maybe from some haker tho it sucked that i cant host in all 3 of them W2 WWP WA and i can only join games in them unsure bout wwp
w2 has better online play then wwp but i like them both the same but WA beats both of them hands down

I have WWP and it works ok.
I don't have many problems with WormNet.
The first thing that my friend wants to do when he comes over is to play WWP.

whats the timezone for mi just to make sure i think its eastern
1: We can't tell when youdont give us either your location or what time it is on your watch.
2: What has that got to do with anything else in this thread?
whats the timezone for mi just to make sure i think its eastern
I guess this is the moment you regret putting "on planet earth" as your location.
whats the timezone for mi just to make sure i think its easternIf it is Eastern Standard Time, then your time zone is UTC-5:00. I'm not sure if that's what you were asking for, but it seems likely, as you provided no information for any other answer.
