Is there a way to get W:A to play in a window?

That would be awesome.

If not, is it planned/possible for a future patch?

Woah, Vader. There's a name I haven't seen in a long time.

Anyway, as far as I know, the frontend will be completely redone with full resizability, full-screen, etc. I don't know about in-game, though.

Is there a way to get W:A to play in a window?Yes, that's definitely planned. First however, I'll make W:A unpaletted in game.

What Lex says is also planned (and will make Wormnet snoopers obsolete).

Hopefully that also means the game will be crash-free by then in terms of minimizing?

Sorry to bring up a dead thread here, but I just wondered if there had been any progress on this topic?

Cheers!

The last beta update (v3.6.26.5) from 5th of January 2006 didn't bring that feature.
And Deadcode seemingly has vanished since February.

That is most unfortunate news.

Maybe if we offer him a pint he'll show up...

I said in another, more recent, thread about this that I've been able to to it by running W:A in wine. That's very unrealistic on windows (though you might be able to do it with cygwin's X server + that modified linux kernel that runs natively under windows), but it works. Of course, it's windowed in-game too, but I have plans to fix that.

Yeah I skimmed through that thread, but since I'm running W:A on a PC I found it of little interest. PERHAPS ERRONEOUSLY!

He's just bored of all this coding. Birds will do him good. Let's just hope he doesn't get into fish, or we'll never see him again.

yup, he was spotted on msn earlier toda.... yesterday. Hes not the only one fed up with coding.

Linux runs on PCs too. ;D

Wine runs on Linux?

Meh... I have Windows on my PC. That's the way it will stay.

Coding/scripting DOES get boring. I made a UFO thing a while back (link (http://vader.wurmz.net/flash/ufo)) as a website interface but never got round to finishing it because it gets so fatiguing. I will eventually, though. Hopefully Deadcode feels the same way about W:A :P

Way to go, Deadcode! Oh, and while you're at it, can you make it so that the graphics don't get all screwy after restoring a minimized game?

Vader

My guess is that that's something to do with the colour palette. Switching from 16-bit to 32-bit and back probably makes teh game go "Erm... what?" and go psychadelic.

Ask Deadcode - I bet he knows.

Switching from 16-bit to 32-bit
Not even 16-bit (65536 colors). :p

The game has paletted colors. I'd guess around 256 colors.

Yeah, that was my point. It's hard to keep momentum up while working on one thing for a while.

I know it's buggy but I doubt I'll ever try and fix it.

Report the bug to me and I'll consider waiving it.
