i recently purchased a copy of worms 3d for ps2 and it loads fine but then it will suddenly give me a message saying "please insert controller into port 1". i've tried a number of controllers old and new and it doesn't seem to recognize any of them. It will allow me to press X and the message will disappear then reappear again. What is causing this?

my friend had the same problem with a different game, it was the playstations controller port that was broken, not the controller or game. that could be it, i dont know

What do you mean your art sux? :-/ but i have tried so many different things with my contollers but I will try what you did because I liked the picture. It really did make my day ;)
you should find a controller-game combination where all buttons & joysticks work.
then use that controller with w3d again.
if you get the error again with a controller that worked perfectly with another game, then somethings strangly wrong.
does the ps2 explorer/configuration thingie have something to test controllers?

If it is the cable that's at fault, then that will only work sometimes -- you might have to hold the cable straight, and that would be a real pain to do with tape.
